Description

The SCRS-8ai is a high-output loudspeaker measuring a compact 18” x 14” x 7”. Its installation-friendly enclosure includes integrated pick points and is supplied with mounting hardware to secure the speaker to surrounding framing. A removable front baffle and quick-connect wiring harness allow the SCRS-8ai to be installed in stages, assuring safety of the drivers during theater room construction. At only 7-inches deep, it requires minimal build out; making the SCRS-8ai the perfect solution when performance is demanded, but space is at a premium.

Using high-output professional-grade components, the SCRS-8ai creates a big, dynamic sound far surpassing the performance limitations of traditional home audio loudspeakers. Its 8-inch woofer employs a neodymium motor system with oversized voice coil to maximize thermal power handling. Bass is both powerful and articulate, resolving fine textures and subtle details with ease. In like manner, a high-sensitivity compression driver and unique elliptical horn provide linear dispersion of high-frequency energy to beyond 30kHz with true-to-life dynamic range. Seamless integration of the drivers results in one coherent voice, enhancing the vocal intelligibility so important in home theater applications.

Developed as part of an integrated digital cinema system, the SCRS-8ai and companion DPA amplifier are equally adept at screen channel or effects channel applications. As in commercial cinema installations, the SCRS-8ai is bi-amplified to maximize the performance of each driver in the system. Proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is employed for high-resolution frequency shaping and time alignment. Maximum output is 118dB; making the SCRS-8ai an exceptional choice for medium-sized and small room installations.
