Description

Bringing the finesse and resolution of our reference screen channel loudspeakers to moderate sized installation venues, the SCR-2115 offers the perfect balance of ultimate fidelity and the power to fill a six to twelve seat theater. A true three-way loudspeaker design, the SCR-2115 employs the same sophisticated coaxial compression driver and horn found in the larger SCR-2215sm. Combining two subsystems in one, each driver is optimized for its performance across a narrower frequency range. As such, power handling and dynamic range are increased while providing extended bandwidth. The result is an effortless presentation of vocals and instrumentation with unrivaled detail; all delivered with the dynamics that give motion picture soundtracks and music a believable sense of scale.

The low frequency duties of the SCR-2115sm are performed by a single professional-grade 15-inch woofer supported by dual ports and powered by a massive motor system weighing nearly 30-pounds. The 4-inch voice coil maximizes thermal power handling, allowing the SCR-2115sm to reproduce live concert sound pressure levels for extended periods of time without fear of driver failure.

To meet the demands of the broadest range of installation applications, the enclosure of the SCR-2115sm has been designed in a modular format. The mid / high-frequency horn and woofer are housed in separate modules, allowing the speaker to be configured vertically or horizontally as needed to suite the installation need. In addition, the modular design creates an upgrade path to the SCR-2215sm by simply adding the additional woofer modules and appropriate amplification.

As with all PRO cinema loudspeakers, proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is employed to provide all crossover functions, time correction, and very high resolution frequency response shaping, eliminating restrictive passive filter networks from the signal path. Since signal filtration is achieved prior to amplification, the output stage of each amp channel is directly wired to the input terminals of its associated driver, maximizing power transfer and control. Bass is tight and accurate, and delivered with the same visceral slam experienced in the commercial theater or concert setting.

The SCR-2115sm and companion DPA amplifiers are part of a sophisticated digital cinema system employing proprietary DSP. Tri-amplification is required. Maximum output is >130 dB, making the SCR-2115 the loudspeaker of choice for medium to large room applications where ultra high-resolution audio and true-to-life cinema are demanded from a single, dual-purpose system.
