Description

A new addition to our family of products, the 6ic and 6ic-E in-ceiling speakers bring PRO design sensibilities to the distributed audio system, addressing a broad range of performance issues found lacking in current market offerings. Chief among the design objectives was to provide listening levels capable of filling a large living space without the strain or distortion so common to in-ceiling speakers. Likewise, attention was given to broad dispersion to avoid the sonic “spot light” effect that plagues so many designs, resulting in a soundfield limited to directly beneath the loudspeaker.

To achieve these objectives, the 6ic / 6ic-E employ a 6.5-inch coaxial driver featuring high-grade ferrite and neodymium motor systems for increased power handling and improved sensitivity. Likewise, the passive crossover network utilizes premium components for increased power transfer. By design, the 6ic and 6ic-E offer rich, full-bodied sound at low levels and can comfortably attain “crank it up” listening levels without driver breakup and distortion. Detailed vocals, impressive dynamics, and broad dispersion allow hours of enjoyable listening from anywhere in the room. In addition, the aimable tweeter allows directional tuning of the upper-most octave to assure premium performance at a preferred listening location.

The 6ic and 6ic-E have been designed as part of an integrated digital sound system, taking distributed audio performance to an entirely new level. When coupled with the proper PRO multi-channel amplifier, each speaker benefits from proprietary DSP processing employing high-resolution digital filters for flatter frequency response and improved tonal accuracy, and low-frequency equalization for extended bass response. In addition, the amplifiers feature multiple channels of parametric equalization to fine tune each loudspeaker in room, optimizing speaker performance to its environment. The 6ic or 6ic-E can be mated with the LFC-210im subwoofer for installations where full-range performance and higher playback levels are desired.

With value defined by system performance as well as an affordable price, the 6ic / 6ic-E mark PRO’s entry into the distributed audio industry with something much greater than yet another “me too” product design.
